One particular idea kicked around was the fate of DarkKnightmon, as the Watch Man implied his brother might still be alive and that he was looking for him in the original canon. 
figured DarkKnightmon WAS alive and he too was resurrected as a human, but as a tiny human child.
Originally I had tinkered with a younger adult human DarkKnightmon, blueike.deviantart.com/art/DZX… , but I really adored the idea of him as a kid instead and started fiddling with a design.
I recycled a few aspects from the adult design, in particular the eyebrows because they're so fun to draw.
Kid DarkKnightmon is also loosely inspired by Ryo Asuka's Devilman Crybaby design, since that was popular still at the time of drawing it.

Some additions to DarkKnightmon's personality is a constant frustration at his current predicament and having developed expensive tastes such as high quality parfaits. He is a Hunter as well, though he's more selective in what he wants to hunt, mostly just keeping an eye on Xros Heart and the Zoners to see if anything interesting happens. He has a black Xros Loader, formally a Darkness Loader, as it lost its Dark Power after the Zoners scanned DarknessBagramon and purified him.
DeadlyAxemon also suffered reincarnation, and was reborn as a mangy dog that happily follows DarkKnightmon around, but is vicious towards anyone else. At one point, DeadlyAxemon is restored to its Digimon self, but as a Gazimon, and it has to Flash Digivolve in order to be DeadlyAxemon again, similar to Damemon.

This is rather hilarious since SkullKnightmon was established as Adult Level by the Field Guide.
