Merry Month of ...Something

One major thing is that I'm on Freelanced.com now looking for more, well, freelance work to do, so wish me luck there! 

Still trying to figure out some original content and pieces to use in a portfolio for CTN as well as trying to piece together Bangteng and even dabbling more in that Ducks and Dinosaurs idea I posted earlier. Fleshing out original characters and stories is really hard despite the relative ease I've had with fan stuff. Maybe I'm more like Don Rosa in that regard, having more of an attachment to characters I grew up with and loved. Still, a bit of a weird question, but what kinds of stories would people like to see out of Bangteng and the Duck stuff? 

Case in point, I've had a lot of Transformers centric ideas floating around my head, though that's mostly due to me catching up on Robots in Disguise, Car Robots and More Than Meets The Eye. 

One particular idea that keeps coming back to me is a confrontation with the DJD and Knights of Cybertron, where Tarn and Omega Prime (who isn't a Knight, but would be kinda rad if he was) duel each other, meanwhile Tailgate and Nickle get into a sissy slap fight. I did actually attempt to draw this, several times, but it just wasn't turning out right so I shelved it. 

Another idea was inspired by Empire of Stone, where Gigatron reemerges as Devil Gigatron after syphoning energy from Grit and flies off to get revenge on Drift and Ratchet. Being an undead, vampiric son of a glitch, Devil Gigatron would be hard to deal with, let alone getting a few new modes to battle with. I only really had two scenes in mind: a comedic scene where he transforms into Devil Ostrich (tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/f…) and defeats a hysterical Rodimus and Ultra Magnus by jamming his head into the ground and unleashing a tremor that disables the Autobots. Another had Megatron try to hold back Devil Gigs, which Gigs scoffs at and tries to absorb the power of the great Megatron so he'll be unstoppable... only to have absorbed the rancid Energon Megatron's been forced to drink to keep his power down, leaving Devil Gigatron open for Drift to finish him off. I considered drawing chunks of this, but decided against it, since I have more important matters to attend to anyway. 

Speaking of, I'm almost done with a future installment in Sonic the Comic, and the first issue I've penciled should be coming out sometime this month, so keep an eye out!  

I had also considered maybe pitching a story to Sonic the Comic; I've been wanting to draw a Sonic centric one and had a little idea of him getting some help from supporters since he's been on the run from the law. Something of a Yuusha parody maybe with Lyric as antagonist, I dunno just yet. Just a thought. 

The unfortunate thing is that I've been in a bit of a drawing slump lately. I haven't been in much of a drawing mood, outside of some sketches I did for Electromagnetic Publishing, and like Sonic, I hate it when I can't do what I love. 

So I've mostly just been trying to apply to freelancing jobs and study some more comic art for inspiration.
