Time to indulge in a little more data on Digimon Zone concepts.
First up, Zone Type Digimon.

Zone Types can be categorized into two groups: Pure and Impure.

Pure Types are usually partnered with Zone Tamers and are infused with a pure source of Zone Energy (The Essence of the Network). This allows P Types to adapt to foreign Zones much more easily and even allows them to use some unique abilities...

Impure on the other hand are Digimon that have become infected with a Virus like strain of Zone Energy. Once infected, the Digimon evolves into a mutated form and goes into a possessed/zombie like state. The mutated form usually has augmented parts such as Boarmon's tusks and corrupt patches of Data slowly appearing on their bodies.
Impure types usually tend to go wild and create tears in space as a result of their unstable use of Zone Energy.
The best way to defeat a Zone Digimon is to distract it long enough until the virus devours it and it dissolves into a DigiEgg. There are other methods but usually only a Zoner can properly handle a Zone Type.
