Sonic: Diego the Saurus

Description

After the Xorda Gene Bomb wiped out life on Earth as we know it, time passed and life restructured itself giving rise to Mobosaurs. These dinosaur like beings met a similar demise during the Coming of the Chaos Emeralds, presumably bringing the Mobosaurs to extinction sans those who later became the Ancient Walkers. It turns out several small pockets of Mobosaurs survived and resettled into a newly formed crater that would eventually flourish and become known as Dinosaur Valley (also known as Dinosaur Jungle).

Millions of years later, Mobosaurs had split into two races: anthropomorphic beings similar to the Mobians called “Mobosauroids” by Mobian Cryptozologists. The other race had regressed into primitive, semi-sentient Mobini Dinosaurs.

The Mobosauroids were considered myths until Dinosaur Valley was discovered accidently by Big the Cat and later Sonic the Hedgehog.

Diego the Saurus is one such example of modern Mobosauroids. He works as a miner and fancies himself as a treasure hunter though as a hobby. Gold is the name of the game, as he seeks to find a legendary Mobosaur treasure that he hopes will bring good fortune to his family. With great strength and jaws that can crush steel, Diego can easily chew his way through the Eggman Empire.

Like the rest of his culture though, he has a great fear of Chaos Emeralds, fearing that as the local legends dictate, merely touching one without proper gear will result in instant disentegration. He greatly prefers using the power utilized by Rings for his equipment, but reoccuring contact with Sonic’s exploits have allowed him to be more at ease about the Emeralds. At least when they’re in the right hands. His fascination of Ring technology has led him to become friends and partners with Team Variety-Hour.

All animals are sentient, dammit! Just because they're not sapient doesn't mean they're not sentient!
